Custodian is a Chrome extension that watches for the moment you're actually done with a site, when its last tab closes, then clears what it left behind. Cookies, storage, cache, and any permissions it no longer needs. No accounts. No network calls. Nothing leaves your browser.
The idea
You close a tab. The site doesn't forget.
Cookies, cached logins, camera and location permissions: most of it just sits in your browser after you're done with a site, sometimes for years. Custodian changes what happens after you close the tab, not while you're using it — it doesn't touch anything on a site you still have open.
Reopen the site before the grace period runs out and nothing happens. Custodian only acts once it's actually run out.

Auto-wipe
Cookies, local storage, IndexedDB, cache storage, service workers, and more, cleared per-origin once the last tab for that origin closes.
The receipt
Every cleanup produces an itemized record: exactly what was cleared and what permissions were reset, timestamped and reviewable any time.
Whitelist & Greylist
Mark a site never-touch, permanently, or skip-for-now, until a timer you set expires. Custodian will also notice login-shaped sites you visit often and offer, once, to whitelist them.
Shield Mode
One toggle flips the default entirely. Instead of clearing everything except your whitelist, Custodian clears nothing except sites you've explicitly marked clean.
Isolate this tab
Block a single tab's outgoing requests on demand. It doesn't touch other tabs, and it doesn't block WebRTC — more on that in How it works.
Permission reset, verified
Custodian checks which permissions were actually customized for a site before resetting anything. It never resets a permission you never touched.
The hard part
Chrome doesn't make this easy. We built around it anyway.
Chrome lets an extension override a site's permission, but gives it no way to undo that for a single site later, only a way to clear its overrides for a permission type across every site at once. Left alone, that means a site could keep re-prompting even after you click Allow again.
Custodian tracks exactly which sites it's touched per permission type, so freeing one site means clearing everything for that type and immediately writing every other site's protection straight back. Whitelisting a site now undoes past resets, not just future ones.
